Governors: Who are we?

Nic Adams

I joined WJS as a parent governor with 2 children at the school. I am currently Chair of the Governing Body and serve on the curriculum and pay and personnel committees. My skills include recruitment and IT.

Jackie Johnson

I have been a governor of Writtle Junior School for around 8 years, first as a Parent Governor when my children were in the school and now as a co-opted governor. All four of my children have passed through the Writtle schools, and then onto Hylands.   I have worked for 16 years in the Financial Service industry with Barclays, 10 years as a Teaching Assistant in Writtle Infant school, and now I work for EES for schools supporting primary education nationwide, so hopefully I bring a varied skill set to the Governing Body.  It is an interesting environment we find ourselves in at the moment in education but I enjoy the challenge of being a school governor and find it an absolute privilege to work alongside the superb team at WJS.

I live in Writtle and was a pupil at WJS many years ago! My daughter attended the school from 2011 – 2015 and my son will be starting year 3 in September. I went to Leeds University and have a degree in Environmental Science.

I have worked in the pension industry since 1996 and currently work at Hymans Robertson in London as a Senior Consultant advising companies on pension provision for their employees. I am a fellow of the Pensions Management Institute and a qualified financial adviser. In the past I have managed Sales and Marketing teams. Outside of work I am a Trustee Director of Relate (North Essex and East Herts).
